National Conference Centre

Permagreen were appointed to supply air tightness consultancy & trade services, and acoustically tested passive fire protection to the €215 Million National Conference Centre, in Dublin's Docklands.

The project will include the construction of a 250-bed, five star hotel development at Spencer Dock near Connolly Station and The Point Theatre. The Spencer Dock Convention Centre Dublin Limited consortium is made up of Treasury Holdings, Mr. Harry Crosbie and Iarnrod Eireann. Work is expected to take 40 months to complete.

The conference centre will be built under a Public Private Partnership Programme (PPP) and the Spencer Dock consortium is required to design, build and operate the conference centre for a period of 25 years. CMP Limited is a joint venture between Treasury Holdings and John Sisks and Sons Limited.

The conference centre will accommodate 2,000 people in the main section and will have two other halls. It is thought that such a centre would increase the number of visitors to the capital for conferences by up to 30,000 annually. The centre would also have the potential to raise €50 million annually in additional revenues.

According to recent newspaper reports, The National Convention Centre has already secured two major conferences, and taken a further 35 provisional bookings up to 2015.
