NUI Galway - Engineering Building

Permagreen were appointed by BAM Contractors to provide air tightness consultancy and testing services to the prestigious new Engineering Building at NUI Galway.

The 14,000m2 building, consolidating the five engineering departments of Civil, Electronic, Industrial, Engineering Hydrology and Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering under one roof, will be the centrepiece of the University’s North Campus Development. This is the largest capital project undertaken to date by the University and it is receiving significant government funding along with support from private donors and from funds generated by the University. The building is due to be completed at the end of 2009.

NUI, Galway has engaged renowned architects, RMJM, designers of the award-winning Scottish Building in Edinburgh, for this project. State-of-the-art undergraduate and postgraduate student facilities will include laboratories, project rooms, research space, computer suites, lecture theatres, classrooms and associated academic accommodation.
